Malk & Becky had a kitchen that was on its last legs, and not suitable for their family requirements as it was put in by the previous owner.

THE BRIEF

With the addition of the sun room to the rear of the property, the kitchen became noticeably dark and small.

Malk & Becky had already removed the adjoining wall between the two rooms which then allowed sun light to penetrate the kitchen area - this was the beginning of our task. Create a modern stylish and functional kitchen whilst maximising the area available to deliver the feeling of space, without having to increase the actual kitchen working area.

A peninsular was then incorporated to divide this new large space into different living zones and with seating to the rear gives the family a place to enjoy informal dining.

THE DETAILS

The kitchen design they were looking for was a modern style kitchen with bold colouring and a luxury finish. As a result they decided that Signia’s B220 Sterling Grey Gloss with Graphite grey feature units was the way forward.

And to provide that additional personal touch they selected coloured glass splashbacks and a Silestone worksurface with shimmering reflective particles in it!

THE EQUIPMENT

Initially they were looking at built 1 ½ oven, as that it what they were accustomed too, but after discussing their cooking requirements, it was decided that a single oven and combination microwave oven would suit them better and also allowed them to have a Neff Slide-away oven door.

The remainder of the appliances where also chosen from Neff’s extensive range and included; induction, monobloc fridge/freezer and a fully integrated washing machine to maintain the streamline look.

An additional treat was added in the form of a a Quooker Boiling water tap, which ‘decluttered’ the worksurface from one of many worktop appliances, the kettle, to maintain a minimal look and use accessories to personalise the space.

THE UNIQUE RESULTS

The kitchen is situated between the middle of the two living areas, sun room on one side and the living room on the other, so it was always going to be on display, therefore with the inclusion of LED feature lighting in the plinths and under wall unit, no matter which room you were in the kitchen was a beautiful illuminated feature in the background!

THE CUSTOMER COMMENTS

"It was with some fear and trepidation that we ventured to Just Kitchens Lancaster. We had always wanted a state of the art, modern, user-friendly kitchen but feared this would literally cost the earth.

How wrong were we…..

From start to finish the whole kitchen buying experience was excellent. The choices offered to us by Just Kitchens were fantastic, every little detail is considered and it seemed that nothing was too much trouble. The customer service left us feeling like we were the only important customer to Just Kitchens and we felt no pressure or hard sell forced upon us at all - rarely have we experienced such first class customer service.

The kitchen wasn't cheap but nor was it overtly expensive or out of our moderate budget range. Advice around kitchen design, colour and construction were suggested but at no point did we feel pressured into doing or buying anything we weren't comfortable with. We did push the boat out and order a Quooker boiling water tap-and absolutely thrilled with it!!!

On the whole the whole kitchen buying experience was an enjoyable experience and can whole heartedly recommend Just Kitchens. We think our kitchen looks fantastic and we couldn’t be happier with it."
