Lorraine purchased a new build property ten years ago. After a decade of use, the kitchen was becoming tired and with the integrated washer becoming faulty it prompted her to look at a replacement from Just Kitchens Lancaster.
“THE DESIGNS IN THE SHOWROOM MADE ME REALISE HOW INEFFICIENT AND UNSUITABLE MY CURRENT KITCHEN LAYOUT WAS FOR MY NEEDS.”
She loves entertaining and although the dining table was in the kitchen, she often had her back to her guests and felt detached from them when socialising.
“AFTER SOME VERY CASUAL AND UNPRESSURISED DISCUSSIONS WITH SIMON, WE MET AT MY HOUSE TO DISCUSS HOW I 'USED' MY KITCHEN, THE FOLLOWING VISIT BACK TO THE SHOWROOM TO VIEW THE DESIGN MADE MY MIND UP. THE CLEVER USE OF THE SPACE HAD CREATED A KITCHEN I HAD LONGED FOR. SIMON HAD LISTENED VERY CAREFULLY TO EVERYTHING THAT WAS IMPORTANT”
The design from Just Kitchens incorporates a peninsular, which as well as dividing the kitchen in half, allowed her to prepare food and engage in conversation directly in front of her guests as they sit at the new dining area.
We had to factor a boiler housing and free-standing wine cabinet into the design. This was achieved by a custom made unit that housed both of them, ensuring the streamline characteristics remain. The use of colour, and tactile materials throughout the design, gives a pleasure to the senses of touch & sight. Whilst Lorraine’s cooking and hosting does the rest.

Lorraine utilised our full comprehensive installation service. This included the careful removal of the old kitchen. Followed by plastering of walls and ceilings in preparation for the new units and glass splashbacks. Amendments to electrical & plumbing and full installation of the new kitchen. Finishing the project with laying of an Amtico floor, and even painting and decorating. By utilising the project management capabilities of Just Kitchens the entire job flowed seamlessly from start to finish.
